Privacy Policy

A plain-language privacy policy for this personal website. This site is built to publish my work, projects, and writing. I do not to track visitors, sell data, or build advertising profiles.

The short version

Overview

This is a personal website operated by David Browning. It exists to share my projects, writing, work history, and interests. I try to collect as little information as practical. I do not sell personal information, run advertising profiles, or intentionally track visitors across the web.

What the server records

Technical logs and error diagnostics

This site collects standard technical information when pages are requested or when an error occurs. This includes the requested URL, timestamp, browser user agent, referrer, IP address, and error details such as exception type, route, stack trace, or diagnostic message. I use this information to operate, debug, secure, and improve the site. I do not use this information for advertising, and I do not sell it.

No ads or tracking cookies

Cookies and local storage

The public site is intended to work without advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. If cookies, local storage, or similar browser storage are used, they will be limited to basic site functionality, preferences, security, or diagnostics. Future administrative tools may use authentication or security cookies, but those are not intended for public visitor tracking.

Measuring the site

Analytics

I use basic, privacy-conscious analytics to understand whether the site is working and which pages are useful. Analytics are used for aggregate site improvement rather than identifying individual visitors. I do not use analytics to sell data, build advertising profiles, or follow visitors around the internet.
